Pastor Larry and wife Julie, daughters Hannah (not pictured: married to Cameron Hulse) Amanda and son Joel have served the Lord at First Southern since September of 1994.  Bro. Larry feels the greatest titles he can wear are pastor, husband and dad.

  Larry and Julie met at the University of Central Oklahoma where they both received their degrees in Special Education, emphasizing in the area of Learning Disabilities.

  Larry received Jesus as Lord and Savior at the age of 15. In 1975 he graduated from high school in Talihina Oklahoma. In 1977 he entered the US Navy being discharged in 1981 and soon after started college. It is during his naval days he surrendered to God’s call upon his life to the ministry.  Larry has done a variety of jobs from logging, to window cleaning to teaching school. During his time in college he was also preparing for the ministry by teaching in Sunday School, preaching at Grace Rescue Mission in Oklahoma City and the Oklahoma County Jail and of course filling in at various pulpits when the opportunity arose. Larry as studied at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary including the study of biblical languages of Greek and Hebrew. Brother Larry served as pastor for two other churches located in Southeastern Oklahoma prior to coming to Arcadia.

  As God's servant he serves all, to help each individual, first to know the Lord as Savior then to grow in that relationship of faith and love. Brother Larry ministers people through all of life's ups and downs by simply loving and conveying the truth of God's word. He faithfully proclaims the message of redemption without compromise. In short his goal is to personally keep his eyes on Jesus Christ and point others to the Master.

Richard Vandever and family (Lori, Jenny and Chad) are local servants of the Lord. Richard does a wonderful job with the music ministry. God has blessed him with a great gift of music. Lori is our church clerck and is highly involved in all areas of our church.

Jeff Jackson recently joined the FSBC family. Jeff and wife Nichole are 2007 graduates of Oklahoma Baptist University. Jeff  received a degree in Youth Ministry with an emphasis in Bible, and Nichole in nursing, she is now an RN. Jeff grew up in Texas and Nichole in Piedmont Oklahoma.

The Jacksons are as excited to be with us as we are to have them. Jeff is looking forward to a ministry of positivly enfluencing young people for Christ. The future is bright for the youth ministry in Arcadia.
